Connecticut Paid Sick Leave- CT Department of Labor Issues Guidance
On June 10, 2011, we published an alert describing the sick leave law, which was signed into law on July 1, 2011. When it becomes effective on January 1, 2012, Connecticut will become the first state in the nation to mandate paid sick leave for certain hourly service workers. This morning, the Connecticut Department of Labor issued guidance for employers and employees, designed to help human resource professionals comply with the new law. The CT DOL has also issued the English version of the required workplace poster, and plans to release the Spanish translation soon.
